Gold, tomato and basil

The idea for Spaghetti Pomodoro e Basilico came from a simple thought: taking something precious, like a gold jewel, and connecting it to a happy, familiar moment that needs no explanation.

Pasta, and spaghetti in particular, is part of our culture and our everyday life. It immediately brings us back home, to familiar rituals and simple dishes that remain some of the most recognizable and loved. Pomodoro e Basilico is perhaps its most essential expression, made with just a few ingredients yet still capable of stirring an emotion.

I wanted to explore exactly that idea, turning such an unmistakably Italian combination into a piece of jewelry while keeping the same sense of authenticity: a fine, wavy thread of gold set with rubies and green tourmalines, taking those familiar colors and translating them into something tangible.

In this sense, the jewel works almost like a recipe, made from a few clear elements that find their balance together: the gold, the stones, the shape. Nothing unnecessary, just something that stays with you.

There is also a more personal layer connected to the name Àpini. It comes from my mother’s childhood nickname and carries with it a sense of origin, of where everything begins.

I imagined these rings as pieces to wear freely: on their own for a more essential look, or combined with other Spaghetti rings to create a more playful mix that changes depending on how you put them together.

It is a 9ct gold jewel set with natural stones, designed to stay with you over time. Something you recognize instinctively, without even having to think about it.
